Who we are

Smile For All (SFA) was founded on 2 May 2015 in Daulatpur, Kushtia, by Akash Biswas, who brought together a group of school friends fresh out of their SSC exams around one shared belief: even a handful of young people, if they choose to spend their free time on something bigger than themselves, can spark real change in their community. What began as a small volunteer effort, tested almost immediately by the devastating 2015 Chilmari and Ramkrishnapur floods, grew — through years of steady, ground-level work — into one of Daulatpur's most recognized and trusted voluntary organizations. Today, under Akash's continued leadership as Founder, SFA is a non-profit, non-political, youth-led organization with 125+ registered members and around 200+ active volunteers who show up whenever their neighbours need them. Our work spans education, health, climate action, humanitarian relief, and livelihood training, and has reached roughly 11,000+ people directly and indirectly through 121+ community initiatives to date. None of it happens in a boardroom — every SFA project starts with a real need someone in Daulatpur brought to us, often over a simple conversation, because that is exactly how Akash built this organization from the ground up: one neighbour helping another.

What else we do

Beyond flood relief and the everyday community support we've provided since our earliest days, SFA runs six core projects side by side, each addressing a different need. Our Climate Action Project plants and actively manages trees across Daulatpur's roads, schools, and char areas, tracking every sapling's survival, and organizes climate-awareness drives and climate strikes to push for stronger environmental protection. Our Medical Project activates free, doctor-led health camps during emergencies and other critical periods, and runs blood-group testing paired with an on-call donor-matching service so patients can find compatible blood quickly. Our Library Installation Project maintains a growing public collection of 3,000+ books, all catalogued and managed through our website for easy access. Our Wish Fulfillment Project bridges willing donors with people genuinely in need, matching whichever side's wish comes first, whether that's someone wanting to give or someone wanting to receive. Our Prekkhapot Project builds long-term livelihoods through practical skill training — free sewing, poultry and livestock rearing, and more — following the philosophy of teaching people to earn rather than simply handing out aid. And our Oxygen Project, launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, continues to this day, supplying free oxygen support to long-term and critically ill patients who need it most.
